Hello Kelliwood Links Residents,

Welcome to the new residents of Kelliwood Links. Please contact Kristi, at Crest Management if have any questions about the neighborhood. Crest’s phone number is 281-579-0761.  ICS is our gate company (713-218-0123) and they can supply you with remotes and/or gate cards. Download the proper forms from this website to order.

*Annual Kelliwood HOA Board Meeting*

The annual meeting will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2009 from 7-9pm at McMeans Jr. High School on Westhiemer Parkway. The budget for 2010 will be discussed and approved.

*Community Garage Sale Day*

On Saturday, November 21, Kelliwood Links will have a community garage sale day. The gates will remain open from 7am until 2pm for that day only. It will be a great opportunity to clear out clutter and make a few dollars. If you have any left-over items that you don’t want to throw away, just take them to the many new Goodwill Donation Centers around the area. The nearest one is on Mason Road, just north of the Equestrian Center in the strip mall on the right side. You can get a tax receipt for your donation.

Access Gates-

Please inform yard crews, guests, etc. not to enter through the exit gate. That gate is not equipped to sense vehicles in it's path as it closes. If it closes on a vehicle it will not reverse and will cause damage to the gate and vehicle. Many yard crews have purchased their own gate cards from their resident customers for the convenience of coming at any time (not relying on customer to be home to gain access, or to come while the gates are open for the school buses). If you dismiss your yard crew, simply call ICS and cancel the gate card.

Please do not tape signs on the gates or gate-phone box. Tape residue is very noticeable on the black paint and is difficult to remove after baking in the sun. Please post notices (lost or found signs, etc) on “bandit” signs at the entrance or exit. Posting notices on the mailboxes is fine but are often promptly removed by the mailman. Bandit signs by each mailbox would be effective also. There are sign stores on Fry Road, and bandit signs are not expensive. If you must tape a sign (such as an urgent lost pet sign), please be sure to remove the sign and clean off residue.

Thank you and have a wonderful holiday season!

Dear Kelliwood Links Residents,
Spring is almost here and the neighborhood's plant life is beginning to blossom and turn green again. Spring is also the time that weeds become a problem for lawns and flower beds. Please pay special attention to your lawns and flower beds to make sure that they are treated. A few minutes of weed pulling can really make a difference in the appearance of your property. Home improvement stores such as Ace Hardware, Home Depot and Lowe's sell products that specifically deal with weeds indigenous to our area. Clover growing in lawns can be treated inexpensively with a spray bottle product that connects to your garden hose. Crabgrass and most other weeds can be treated with weed and feed granules. The staff at Ace Hardware on Mason Road are very knowledgeable about the weed control products they sell.

The Kelliwood Links Community garage sale is set for Saturday, March 28. The gates will open at 7am and remain open until 2pm. Garage sale signs will be posted outside the neighborhood. We will not place signs at Mason or Fry Road this time because the last two garage sale days our signs were picked up within an hour.

Homeowner’s maintenance fees are now past due. If you have not sent in your fees, PLEASE do so immediately. Late fees add up quickly and can get expensive. These dues pay for gate operation, landscaping, street lights, etc.

Thank you, Kelliwood Links Homeowner's Association

Happy New Year to all Kelliwood Links residents,
The HOA would like to say a big thank you to Jerry and Doris Graves, on Santa Catalina, and Joy Kellner, on Santa Clara, for volunteering their valuable time to decorate the front entrance with Christmas lights and wreaths. It was nice to come home each evening to lights all colorful and twinkling!

The community garage sale is planned for late March, so plan on sorting through those household items that are collecting dust or just taking up room! Thanks to hurricane Ike, the fall garage sale was canceled, but we are set for a Saturday, March 28 (tentative date). The entrance gate will be open from 7am until 2pm. Be sure to be ready with lots of change and items priced and ready to go. Also, you might consider parking your car in a place that you can get out of the driveway if needed. The streets do get a bit congested with all the garage sale visitors coming through.

The Kelliwood Links HOA recently contracted with a young man, Matthew Miller, to display the American flag at the entrance on national holidays. We are happy to say that Matt, a Boy Scout, is offering this service to anyone interested. He charges just $30 a YEAR to display our nation’s flag, a big 3’x5’ on a tall pole, on President’s Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, the 4th of July, Labor Day and Veteran’s Day. Matt, home schooled sophomore, earns money to pay for his Boy Scout trips and supplies. If you are interested in having the American flag on your own front lawn, please call Matt at 281-395-4325. This is a great way to support our local Boy Scouts and show your patriotism! If you look around, you may notice many other households in other neighborhoods with this service and the sight of so many flags lining the streets is very impressive!

Please note that homeowner’s maintenance fees are due by January 31. These dues are very important as they pay for street lights and other utilities, landscaping at the front of the neighborhood, road maintenance and deed restriction enforcement/protection for our entire community. If you have sent it in already, thank you! If not, please mail your payment today to avoid late fees.

Please feel free to call Crest Management with any and all questions you may have. They are there to help you. Our representative is Kristi at 281-579-0761.

Thank you,

Kelliwood Links HOA

Dear Kelliwood Links Residents,
Our long-awaited concrete sidewalk along Westhiemer Parkway has finally been poured! Cinco Ranch is poised to install their section shortly. Cinco Ranch had intended to pour their section of sidewalk at the same time as ours, but ran into some engineering concerns at the crosswalk in front of Lamplight Village. They have promised to finish their section as soon as possible. Our children will soon be able to walk and bike to school, crossing Westheimer Parkway safely with the crossing guard in front of Exley Elementary School.

A letter was sent by Crest Management announcing that the Annual Home Owner’s Meeting is set for Thursday, November 13th at 7:00 pm. At the annual meeting, the budget for 2009 will be discussed and approved. The HOA is happy to announce that maintenance fees for Kelliwood Links will remain at $549 annually. Maintenance fees pay for landscaping costs, street lights (Kelliwood Links has private streets), deed restriction enforcement and access gate operation costs. There will also be elections this year for the HOA board, including Kelliwood Links. I, Alecia Pacheco, have decided to continue serving on the Board, if re-elected. Anyone else wishing to run for this Board position should contact Crest Management to be placed on the ballot. (Crest Management: 281-579-0761)
Thank you,
Kelliwood Links HOA

Hello Kelliwood Links Residents,
As always, welcome to our new neighbors.  Please see the "Helpul Numbers" page for useful phone numbers (schools, utilities, etc.) and other helpful information.

CHINCH BUG ALERT!  Several years ago our neighborhood was invaded by these yard destroying pests; They are back again!  Please treat your yard with an insecticide designed to kill chinch bugs as soon as possible.  Symptoms of chinch bug infestation start with a small brown area, usually along a sidewalk or driveway, which will very quickly spread.  St. Augustine grass is very susceptible to chinch bugs and will the grass quickly die.  Untreated areas will soon be reduced to bare dirt!  These bugs will move from yard to yard, so please treat your yard, even if it does not show symptoms yet.

The entrance gate was struck by a vehicle in June.  Please report the licence plate number of any vehicle that you witness striking the gate to Crest Management (281-579-0761).  Our representative is Kristy Buenger.  You do not need to get involved beyond that if you so choose, but please do give the license number and vehicle descritption.

School starts Monday, August 25.  The gate timers will resume their school schedule and be open from 6:30 to 8am, and from 2:45 to 4pm.  For those choosing to walk/bike to school, please use care while crossing Westheimer Parkway.  The HOA is very close to securing funding for installation of a sidewalk on our side of Westheimer Parkway, but it will not be in time for the first day of school.

Thank you!

Dear Kelliwood Links Residents,
Welcome to the new residents that have recently moved in to Kelliwood Links.  The HOA hopes that you are settling in and finding Kelliwood Links to be a great neighborhood.  Please see the "helpful numbers" and "resident forms" links for information on local utilities phone numbers, obtaining access gate remotes, card keys etc.

The neighborhood garage sale is fast approaching. The Entrance/Exit gates will remain open beginning at 7am, Saturday, April 26. The gates will promptly close at 1pm on the same day. Advertisements have been placed in the Greensheet and the Houston Chronicle.  Signs will be placed along Westheimer Parkway at Mason and Fry Roads.  A rain-out date will be in May if needed, and the next garage sale day will be in October.

There are currently two homes for sale in Kelliwood Links, so please keep your home's exterior and yard in good order to help those homes sell quickly and for the highest possible selling price.

As a reminder, Kelliwood Links has garage door pick-up for trash on Mondays and Thursdays.  Please leave trash cans at the garage door and not at the curb (unless you prefer curbside), but not on the sidewalks.  Recycling bins do need to be set at the curb for Thursday morning pickup.  Heavy trash day is on Thursday.  Landscaping waste, such as tree trimmings, needs to be bundled and tied in bundles no heavier than 40lbs each. Please do not place any trash, recyclables or yard trimmings on the sidewalks. It forces pedestrians to walk on the street or to walk on lawns.

For parents of new Kindergartners starting in the Fall, Exley Elementary has a play group that meets every other Friday at 4:30pm on the Exley playground.  It is a great way for kids to meet other new students from our area.
Thank you and have a great day!
